For this next week, week three, you should write up a case study along the lines of what you see at the end of Chapter One in our course textbook. There are a number of skills here that I'd like you to demonstrate--and perhaps the most important one is your ability to use the basic concepts presented in the first chapter to guide your thinking about content strategy on one of the websites listed at the top of the Website Analysis page.
Read through Chapter One in the text book, Letting Go of the Words, and pick some material from that chapter and discuss it in the context of what you know about "rhetoric." Of course I'm assuming that you know something about rhetoric from your WRT 200 or other courses. If you need a refresher, follow this link.
Tonight we will get an overview of the course and take stock of the kind of work we'll be doing this semester. This course is full of writing, but there's also quite a few technical things to learn. Your success here will have to do with your ability to plan ahead (don't procrastinate) and find motivation to learn new things.
